I have found a new creative talent...

in my husband :)

Lately, I've been encouraging Taylor to use some of his other gifts he has as another form of an outlet...and believe it or not he is using his creative talents along side me! We are currently in the process of designing a brand new line of cards together! It has been such a blast for us both. Not only being creative, but being creative as a team! I had an idea/concept for a girls line of everyday greeting cards and after I showed him some of my thoughts for them, he suggested doing a similar line except geared towards guys. I thought it was a brilliant idea and the rest is history. We are working through the ideas and drawings and then breathing life into each one. We are excited about the new line and are going to send it off to hopefully be picked up by a national card co. to be licensed like some of my newer designs have been. Licensing has been such a huge and wonderful transition for me. It allows me to simply create and not have to be so focused on the selling, printing and distribution side of things....especially in this transitional season of my life as a new mother.

Will soon give a sneak peek preview of our new line...

Custom Handpainted Stools

I have loved designing and painting greeting cards; and I thought to start another fun offering for people to enjoy & have a keepsake for many years down the road.

In Nov. we had our first baby. Her name is McKenna, and she has added so much sweetness to our lives! Since her arrival, I was inspired to start painting on step stools for children and babies. I remember having my very own special step stool when I was a little girl and loved it. Even now when I go to my mom's house, it is still there and brings a smile to my face.

I focus on custom designing for people as everyone I know (including myself) loves to have their very own personalized stuff...be it monogram, name, customized colors to match a home or room or overall theme. I can do custom designs if you have something specific in mind. All stools are personalized with child's name. I use non-toxic paint and a sealer to protect the stool against dirt and smudges from small little fingerprints :)

Step Stools are $68 (includes the stool, custom artwork & sealer)
Bar Stools are $88 (includes the stool, custom artwork & sealer)

Lead time is 1-2 weeks.
Can be shipped anywhere in U.S.
Makes a very special baby shower gift as well as birthday or Christmas gift for any child.

Adult bar stools can be customized to collegic themes, monogramming, etc...

Warm Regards,
Tamara

New Doors. Opening.

New doors are opening in the world of Tamagrams...

Since January I've been refocusing the direction of the business. I've been trying to get my designs picked up by national card publishers. This past month, I got contracts for licensing several new greeting card designs. I'm really pumped about the licensing avenue and having the bigger companies rep and distribute my designs! I'm very thankful for the new doors that have opened and excited to see what's next...

One of my best friends got married last weekend and I wanted to do something extra special for her, something she could keep and enjoy for many years to come. I painted and personalized a bar stool with a monogram of her new last name and used her home colors throughout the design.

I have missed doing those types of projects...I want to start marketing more about offering hand painted and customized products such as step stools for kids (birthday or Christmas presents) and baby showers, bar stools for unique wedding shower gifts or collegic themed graduation gifts, wooden letters for baby's nursery, custom hand painted picture frames, painted furniture, etc. I love see a creation start from a blank slate (or in this case, raw wood) and then seeing the finished masterpiece for someone to enjoy. It makes my heart smile...I feel so blessed to be in this place to harness the creativity from within and the challenge of coming up with new ideas. Someone once told me, "Creativity is the next thing to divinity"...it is something that comes from above, something God gives to each of us. Thought it was a beautiful concept.

Hotlanta

It's been a busy beginning of 2009...this past week we went to Atlanta as we like to call it Hotlanta, however this time of year it is more like Freezelanta! I exhibited Tamagrams the 8th-13th at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart. - Despite the obvious economic conditions and attendance, I learned a TON and am so thankful that I had the opportunity to attend. I meet so many other exhibitors like myself, some there for the first time with their businesses and some that had been attending for many years. I made many new contacts and got a chance to really hone in what direction I am going to go in. After talking with several other companies, I am going to start putting more focus on trying to get my work licensed by companies such as Hallmark, American Greetings, Recycled Paper, etc. While we were there we made some great friends with other fellow booth mates near by! Funny how you can become so close to people after just one week! Here are some pics of our time there. Our sweet 11 week old daughter, McKenna, was our newest sales person, however fell asleep alot on the job every so often when she was at our booth to give my mom a break! :) My mom was gracious enough to stay with her most of the days at the hotel across the street while Taylor and I worked the booth. I went back and forth through out the day to nurse, needless to say it felt so good to get back to home sweet home since we were there for 6 days, but we really enjoyed our time there...
